1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This standard is formulated with a view to implementing the national technical and economic policies in the design of dormitory building and making the design to be of usability, economy, green, aesthetic and high quality.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to design of newly constructed, renovated and extended dormitory building.
1.0.3 The design of dormitory building shall meet the requirements of the local urban and rural planning, the local climate and geographical conditions, and the social, economic and cultural development level.
1.0.4 The design of dormitory building shall not only meet the requirements of this code, but also meet those specified in the relevant national current standards of China.
2 Terms
2.0.1 dormitory
residential buildings that are centrally managed and used by single person
2.0.2 bedroom, habitable room
rooms for the occupants to sleep, study, and rest
2.0.3 lavatory, bathroom
rooms for the occupants to urinate and defecate, bath, wash up and other activities.
2.0.4 public toilet
public rooms for the occupants to urinate and defecate, wash hand
2.0.5 public washroom
public rooms for the occupants to wash up, wash clothes and other activities
2.0.6 activity room
public rooms for receiving, entertainment, small gatherings and other activities of the occupants
2.0.7 usable area
the actual area in use of a room, excluding the area of walls, columns and other structural structures and insulation layer.
2.0.8 balcony
the space, attached to the external walls of buildings, with a railing or balustrade, for the occupants to conduct outdoor activities, drying clothes and other activities
