1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is prepared with a view to adapt to the development of hotel building and make the design of hotel building meet the requirements for applicability, safety and sanitation, etc.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of newly constructed, extended and renovated hotel building equipped with at least 15 guestrooms for rent.
1.0.3 Hotel buildings can be divided into five classes (Class I ~ Class V) from lowest to highest.
1.0.4 Hotel building shall be designed on the principles of saving energy, land, water, materials and protecting environment.
1.0.5 For the design of hotel building, in addition to the requirements stipulated in this code, those stipulated in the current relevant standards of the nation shall be complied with.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Hotel
A kind of public building generally composed of guestroom areas, public areas and service areas where services such as accommodation, dining, meeting, fitness and entertainment, wholly or partially, are provided for guests.
Hotel buildings can be classified into business hotel, resort, meeting hotel and apartment hotel, etc. by operational characteristics.
2.0.2 Business hotel
The hotel building where accommodation and relevant services are mainly provided for guests engaged in business.
2.0.3 Resort
The hotel building where accommodation and relevant services are mainly provided for tourists.
2.0.4 Apartment hotel
The hotel building of which guestroom is equipped with kitchen or operating room, toilet and store room and that is available for long staying guests.
2.0.5 Guestroom areas
Public spaces or places in hotel building where accommodation and supporting services are available for guests.
2.0.6 Public areas
Public spaces or places in hotel building where reception, dining, meeting, fitness, entertainment and other services are available for guests.
2.0.7 Service areas
Spaces or places in hotel building supporting accommodation and relevant activities for guests. Generally, they refer to non-public spaces or places for service staff of hotel building to work, rest and live.
