Chapter 4 of this standard is compulsory, while the rest are recommendatory.
This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB 18580-2001 Indoor Decorating and Refurbishing Materials - Limit of Formaldehyde Emission of Woodbased Panels and Finishing Products.
The following technical changes have been made with respect to GB 18580-2001:
——Classification is cancelled;
——1 m3 chamber test method is modified and changed to footnote;
——40 L desiccator method and limits are cancelled; the limits of (9~11) L desiccator method and perforator method are cancelled;
——(9~11) L desiccator method and perforator method are used for production quality control only;
——Gas analysis method is added for production quality control;
——The provisions of inspection rules are modified;
——The provisions of product marking are cancelled.
In this standard, the 1 m3 chamber test method for formaldehyde emission is consistent with ISO 12460-1: 2007 Wood-based Panels - Determination of Formaldehyde Release - Part 1: Formaldehyde Emission by the 1-cubic-metre Chamber Method, and the limits are basically consistent with those specified in corresponding parts of ISO 16893: 2016 Wood-based Panels - Particleboard and ISO 16895:2016 Wood-based Panels - Dry-process Fibreboard.
This standard was proposed by the State Forestry Administration of the People's Republic of China.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Wood-based Panels of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 198).
