1 Scope
This standard specifies the thread form, dimensions, tolerances and designation for parallel pipe thread with 55 degree thread angle where pressure-tight joints are not made on the threads pairs.
This standard is applicable to the threaded connection of the pipe, valve, pipe joint, cock and other pipeline fittings.
If assemblies with such threads must be pressure tight, this should be effected by compressing tightening surfaces (such as conical surface and plain-end surface) outside the threads by interposing an appropriate seal.
